Copyright and Licensing

The Global Journal of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (GJCIA)  is committed to ensuring that authors retain their copyrights while providing open access to their research. This policy outlines the copyright and licensing terms under which articles are published in GJCIA.

1. Copyright

Author Copyright Retention: Authors retain full copyright of their work upon publication in GJCIA. This means authors maintain the rights to use, distribute, and reproduce their work in any format without restriction, provided proper attribution is given to the original publication in GJCIA. GJCIA’s Rights: GJCIA is granted a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the work and to make it accessible to readers worldwide through its open-access platform.

2. Licensing

All articles published in GJCIA are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to:
  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially.

Conditions of the CC BY 4.0 License:

  • Attribution: Proper credit must be given to the authors, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made must be indicated. Attribution does not imply endorsement by the authors or GJCIA.
  • No Additional Restrictions: The license does not allow additional legal or technological barriers to restrict others from using the content.

3. Author Responsibilities

By submitting to GJCIA, authors agree to:
  • Properly cite sources and ensure the originality of their work.
  • Accept the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license applied to their published article.
  • Verify that all co-authors consent to the copyright and licensing terms.

4. Benefits of Licensing

  • Global Accessibility: The CC BY 4.0 license ensures that published research is accessible globally.
  • Increased Impact: Open-access licensing can enhance citation rates and visibility of authors’ work.
  • Reuse Opportunities: Researchers, educators, and practitioners can reuse the content in various ways, promoting broader dissemination of knowledge.

5. Copyright Infringement and Violations

GJCIA takes copyright violations seriously. Any plagiarism or unauthorized use of the content will be investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken to safeguard authors’ rights.
